CELL PHONE POLICY (2025-2026)

In accordance with California Assembly Bill 3216 (Phone-Free School Act) and Bellflower Unified School District Board Policy 5131.8, Mayfair Middle and High School enforces a structured cell phone policy to promote a respectful and distraction-free learning environment.

All students are required to:

  • Silence their phones upon entering the classroom.
  • Store phones in a designated location as determined by the teacher.
  • Refrain from using phones during the entire instructional period - from the start to the end of class.

Violations of this policy will be addressed with the following progressive consequences.

- Students must fill out a cell phone violation form for every incident.

First Offense

  • The phone is confiscated and held by the teacher.
  • Parent/guardian contact is made by the teacher or staff member who confiscated the phone.
  • The student may retrieve the phone at the end of the class period.

Second Offense

  • The phone is confiscated and turned into the office.
  • Parent/guardian contact is made by the teacher or staff member who confiscated the phone.
  • The student may retrieve the phone at the end of the day.

Third Offense

  • The phone is confiscated and turned into the office.
  • Parent/guardian contact is made by the teacher or staff member who confiscated the phone.
  • Student and parent/guardian are required to review and acknowledge the policy.
  • The student may retrieve the phone at the end of the day.

Fourth Offense

  • The phone is confiscated and sent to the office.
  • Parent/guardian contact is made by the teacher or staff member who confiscated the phone.
  • Student and parent/guardian are required to review and acknowledge the policy.
  • The phone must be picked up by a parent/guardian at the end of the day.

Fifth Offense

  • The phone is confiscated and sent to the office.
  • An administrator will conference with the parent/guardian.
  • A cell phone contract will be assigned. Failure to follow the contract will result in students checking in their phones with an administrator every day.
  • The phone must be picked up by a parent/guardian at the end of the day.

POLÍTICA DE TELÉFONOS CELULARES (2025-2026)

De acuerdo con la Ley  de Escuelas Libres de Teléfonos (Proyecto de Ley de la Asamblea de California 3216) y la Politica de Junta Directiva 5131.8 del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Bellflower, la Escuela Intermedia y Secundaria Mayfair implementa una política de teléfonos celulares para crear un ambiente de aprendizaje respetuoso y sin distracciones.

Reglas Para Los Estudiantes:

  • Silenciar los teléfonos al entrar al salón de clases.
  • Guardar los teléfonos en el lugar designado por el maestro.
  • No usar teléfonos durante todo el período de instrucción.

Nota para los Estudiantes: ¡Mantén tu teléfono guardado y presta atención en clase!

CONSECUENIAS

 

Primera Infracción

  • El teléfono ha sido confiscado y está en poder del maestro.
  • Se contacta a los padres o tutores.
  • El estudiante puede recuperar el teléfono al final de la clase.

Segunda Infracción

  • El teléfono ha sido confiscado y enviado a la oficina.
  • Se contacta a los padres o tutores.
  • El estudiante puede recuperar el teléfono al final de la dia.

Tercera Infracción

  • El teléfono ha sido confiscado y enviado a la oficina.
  • Se contacta a los padres o tutores.
  • El estudiante y los padres deben revisar la política.

Cuarta Infracción

  • El teléfono ha sido confiscado y enviado a la oficina.
  • Se contacta a los padres o tutores.
  • El estudiante y los padres deben revisar la política.
  • Los padres o tutor pueden recuperar el teléfono al final del dia.

Quinta Infracción

  • El teléfono ha sido confiscado y enviado a la oficina.
  • Un administrador de la escuela se reunirá con el padre/tutor.
  • Se asignará un contrato de teléfono móvil. El incumplimiento del contrato resultará en que los estudiantes revisen sus teléfonos con un administrador todos los días.
  • Los padres o tutor pueden recuperar el teléfono al final del dia.
